Not everybody is intimately familiar with LinkedIn.

But when you’re a recruiter using the social media website as a platform to find candidates, you need a functioning understanding of the site, at the very least. You must be able to navigate it with ease and most importantly, use it to identify potential candidates.

When it comes to crafting a best practices process for LinkedIn, it simply takes time and practice. You’ll need to spend a lot of hours on the site, poking, prodding and experimenting. Once you’ve done this, you’ll likely have amassed enough knowledge to start reaching out to candidates.

LinkedIn specifically is a great tool for recruiters, whereas Facebook and Twitter are more customer-facing.
