Remote Interviewing Software

While providing recruiting support to OpenView’s expansion stage portfolio companies, I have come across several recruiting technologies which may help speed up the hiring process through remote interviewing.

One company, HireVue, allows companies to virtually interview candidates over video, or to set up a live video interviews between hiring managers and candidates. HireVue’s technology allows you to compare candidates’ answers to questions head to head for each question that they interview and saves time on scheduling as candidates can complete their video interviews at their convenience in an allotted 48 hour time frame.

Another tool providing a similar service is HarQen’s VoiceScreener. It allows candidates to call into a number which conducts automated interviews over the phone at a candidate’s convenience. Hiring managers are then able to listen to these phone interviews when they have time to do so, which saves the time it often takes to coordinate interviews, and makes comparing the candidates’ interviews easier as they can be reviewed next to one another.
