What is the purpose of a mental link with customers?

In this video for Monday Morning Marketing Quote, Tom bases his lesson on marketing strategy from Al Ries and Jack Trout. Their book, the marketing strategy classic, “Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind,” is the origin of the quote. The purpose? Discussing your marketing strategy and how you should position your company, product and service.

As he explains while drawing ideas from the book, it’s critical to link products and services mentally with customers. This mind association is going to have rather obvious benefits because you’re constantly on your customers’ minds. As compared to other companies, mental association may provide a huge advantage.

 

When you’re tapped into a customer’s mind, you’re better able to push your company while simultaneously being able to address the customer’s needs. It’s a win-win situation.
