Ben is the former SVP of Talent and HR at Bullhorn, Inc. and Monetate. Now an independent consultant, Ben is a global HR business partner with fifteen+ years of experience developing and driving human resources strategies that fuel rapid growth, organizational health and business results. As a trusted advisor to CEOs, Executive Leadership, and board of directors on business strategy, effective communications, and talent priorities, Ben specializes in mergers & acquisitions, performance management, career and leadership development, executive coaching, organizational design and development and talent acquisition/retention.
Deb is an active angel investor and a member of two angel networks, Golden Seeds and Clean Energy Venture Group. She focuses on women-led businesses as well as ventures in clean tech, healthcare, and technology. Previously, Deb worked at McKinsey, where she served clients in the electronics, utility, and health care sectors. Her functional experience includes manufacturing, product development, operations, strategy, professional development, and leadership coaching.
Deb has provided leadership support to organizations in China, Peru and the United States, recently working with JUCCCE, a non-profit sustainability think tank in China. She has a BS in Engineering from Cornell and an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where she was named an Edward Tuck Scholar. Deb recently returned to the US after 8 years living in Peru and China.
David is the Chief Strategy and Talent Officer at Breakaway Innovation Group, leading the strategy and talent practices, helping portfolio clients with growth,product, brand, organizational, innovation and marketing strategy as well as talent acquisition. Prior to joining Breakaway, Dave spent 20 years in product, marketing and general management roles at adidas, Groove Networks, Hearts On Fire, Reebok, Acclaim Entertainment, and SmartPak. Dave is a graduate of Villanova University.
Mary-Alice is the founder and CEO of mosaicHUB, a B2B community marketplace that connects small businesses with marketing, legal, web and other expert business help. She started mosaicHUB after spending over a decade advising businesses, from startups to public companies.
Prior to mosaicHUB, she worked with General Catalyst, a Cambridge-based venture capital firm, where she helped manage the legal aspects of their seed, venture and growth investments. Before General Catalyst, Miller was Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Fidelity Investments working closely with the business development team on strategic ventures. She started her career at the law firm of Ropes & Gray, focusing on leveraged buyouts and venture capital transactions. Miller was named one of Boston Business Journal’s 2012 40 Under 40 and one of Mass High Tech’s 2013 20 Women to Watch.
Brendan is the Vice President of Marketing at Exinda and author of acclaimed career management book Stealing the Corner Office. For nearly 20 years Brendan has studied the too-often-ignored human side of corporate dynamics that create the imperfect world we work in. Unlike most business writers who focus on the conventional side of business and career management, Brendan studies the unconventional tactics managers use to get ahead and stay ahead. Brendan lives in Toronto with his partner Aya and three dogs.
Karen has spent the past 10 years building products and managing product development teams. She is currently the Director of Product at Quantopian, where we are building the world’s first algorithmic trading platform in the cloud. She is currently focused on a new IPython Research Platform that will allow quants to access curated financial data in an interactive research environment.
Before coming to Quantopian, Karen spent time working on the investing team at Matrix Partners where she helped evaluate potential investments and supported portfolio companies. She also spent five years on the product team at HubSpot, where she was responsible for building the first version of many of their inbound marketing tools. Prior to HubSpot, she spent four years managing content publishing development projects for clients such as NBC, iVillage.com, TheStreet.com, Stockpickr.com, and GiftCertificates.com.
