Increasing Your Audience from Other Marketing Channels

December 28, 2010

This is a part of a series that was created to help you get the practice of corporate blogging built into your company. This series will walk through the process, necessary roles, in addition to guides for each role to help your company get started quickly. The following several posts make up a quick start guide for the blogging administrator.

There are many ways to market your blog, and the more you inform your bloggers about how they can market their posts themselves, the less work there will be for you as the administrator.

Bloggers should be promoting their blog posts on:

  • LinkedIn (as a status update and also as a conversation starter in Groups, Forums)
  • Facebook
  • Twitter

As the administrator, you should be marketing your bloggers’ top posts on:

  • Your company’s Facebook page
  • Your company’s Twitter Feed
  • Your company’s LinkedIn page

Encourage your bloggers to comment on influencers/key bloggers in the industry’s blog posts (find these people through RSS feeds). In return, these bloggers will most likely read your posts, comment on your posts, and/or share your posts.

Encourage your bloggers to be guest bloggers on other key blog sites, and aim to have guest bloggers on your site as well.

Give employees ideas for updating e-mail signatures to include a link/hyperlink to their blog.
