Helpful Tips to Prepare You for SXSW 2012

April 3, 2011

Going to SXSW 2012?

Before you embark on your technology seminary journey, there’s a lot of vital information that you’d be better of knowing. Now, this information isn’t going to help your business take off, per se. But it might just indirectly help. The advice offered herein is intended to pragmatically improve the SXSW experience, one tip at a time. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. You won’t have the luxury of taking too many breaks or stops, so being prepared for the long haul will serve you best.
  • Keep your head on a swivel. This is a social media event, so make sure that you’re being social. You don’t have to share an in-depth analysis of your company’s content marketing strategy with every person you run into, but take note of names and faces. It may prove to be helpful one day. Perhaps even later in that same day, when you run into that person again.

SXSW provides an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the industry. And with the right mindset, attendees can gain plenty from the experience. For more information on SXSW planning, watch the video from OpenView Labs featuring Tyson Goodridge.
