Fleshing Out Your Competitive Advantage

Few things are as coveted as the proverbial competitive advantage.

What does having a competitive advantage imply? The most obvious is that, within your market segment, you’re able to offer something that your competition can’t. You can make your own example here, but a great one would be having the latest technology as a cell phone carrier. By having the latest technology exclusively, you’re icing out your competitors.

And that is essentially all you need – sans the ability to capitalize on your competitive advantage – to generate revenue and advance your company. A competitive advantage can also contribute to employee retention. If you don’t want your staff running to the other guys, you should give them reason not to.
