Many of the senior management teams at our expansion stage portfolio companies have had or continue to have problems finding the right middle managers in sales and marketing.

I found that many fail because of lack of process, lack of training, and were generally promoted or hired because they were just good sales people. Great individual contributors may JUST be that, individual contributors.

I thought I would share an article I recently read that focuses on these reasons. Whether you are looking for investors to help you finance this role or not, I thought it would be valuable to read.
