Visual Content: Give Customers What They Want

by Mashable

Visual content is what drives social media. Make sure your brand is producing shareable images and video that drive awareness and traffic.

Stephanie Buck of Mashable writes that companies are quickly learning that visual content “is one of the most effective ways to share their stories.” Buck points to a recent study that found that of the top ten brands on Facebook, “users liked photos twice as often as text updates,” and they “shared videos 12 times more than photo and text posts combined.”

Social media companies are responding to user behavior, and entire networks like Pinterest have sprung up to provide an easy way to share visual content. Buck also provides an infographic by M Booth and social analytics company SimplyMeasured to help convey the rising importance of visual content, complete with head-turning statistics, including the finding that “photo and video posts on Pinterest are referring more traffic than Twitter, Stumbleupon, LinkedIn, and Google+.”
