A B2B Marketing Year in Review

Ah, another year is over.  I am still finding it hard to believe that we are just days away from 2012.  Before I welcome the new year, I thought it would be cool to take a look back at this past year and share a few key trends and events that shaped B2B marketing for better or for worse in 2011:

Winter

Spring

Summer

  • We meet the cute creature that is Google Panda
  • Google Analytics is revamped allowing B2B marketers to get a deeper dive into the analytics on their sites
  • Launch of Google+
  • Joe Pulizzi (OpenView senior adviser) and the gang at CMI hosts the inaugural Content Marketing World in Cleveland, OH – already can’t wait to go next year!

Fall/Winter

  • Content marketing is increasingly becoming more widespread among B2B companies (See the MarketingProfs/Content Marketing Institute for more details)
  • Launch of Google+ and Twitter brand pages giving marketers more control over how their companies are portrayed on the social networks

I’d love to hear about the highlights I missed.  What stood out to you in 2011?
