The Ulitimate ROI Calculator – Business Development Strategies from Google

I was recently forwarded a link to a Google– based ROI calculator called Gone Google. It had to be the most appealing one I have ever seen.

Powered by Google Apps, it asks one simple question and then takes the user through a series of very practical, thought provoking statistics for more competitive positioning. The app’s most unique feature is its final stage. It allows the user to deliver information to others in various formats:

  • Presentation
  • Poster
  • Spreadsheet

I know that many of our expansion stage portfolio companies have to be more complex in delivering ROI. However, I believe that this process can be adjusted more easily.

When offering sales and marketing support to our management teams we discuss ROI quite often. My thoughts are to focus more on the impact and keep the number of required data sets to a minimum. And, by all means, KEEP IT SIMPLE!
