The Importance of QA in Content Marketing – 5 Content Marketing Nightmares

5 Content Marketing QA Nightmares

  1. A typo in your eNewsletter
  2. Including the wrong art card in a video
  3. Forgetting to promote other content
  4. Including a broken link
  5. Grammatical errors

The previous 5 items are a few errors I spotted in content development efforts during the past few weeks. These are silly errors and should not happen! A couple of weeks ago I shared OpenView’s process of creating checklists to ensure these mistakes are minimal. If you are new to creating checklists, here are some tips:

  • Be thorough
  • Be specific
  • Be comprehensive
  • Be granular
  • Be detailed
  • Be sure (have someone else go through your checklist!)

Follow these simple guidelines to ensure your nightmare doesn’t become a reality. After all, you are participating in content marketing to increase your customer engagement. You wouldn’t want to turn someone away due to a small problem you could have caught during a QA step.

On a final note, if you haven’t already, please sign up for our weekly newsletter “Viewing Value” where we collect and disseminate the best new ideas targeted at senior managers of expansion stage technology companies.
