The news was shocking.
I was crushed when I learned of Steve Jobs’s passing last week. His goal was to leave a dent in the universe, and now we have a dent and a hole. Shocking…
This can’t be the end of the Steve Jobs story.
The most crushing part of learning of Steve’s passing (news alert while watching CNBC) was my immediate reaction that, “This is not the way Steve Jobs is supposed to die.” Steve Jobs can’t just go and leave the world with nothing like that. Steve Jobs tells a compelling story like no other, and his stories don’t just end abruptly.
Steve Jobs always has “One More Thing”!
Like this video shows, Steve Jobs always has “one more thing”:
I’ve got to believe that Steve Jobs knew that he was going to pass and has been preparing for it. Most of his preparation was probably around making sure that his family is going to be okay and his company will continue to do well. But I also have to believe that Steve Jobs was working with some people to prepare his final “one more thing.” He had to be. He was Steve Jobs, one of the greatest storytellers of all time. He knows how to nail an ending…
I am REALLY looking forward to Steve’s final “one more thing.”
The “one more thing” might be an autobiography, a video, an app, or even participating in a biographical documentary. It might come out next week, next month, or next year. I don’t know what it’s going to be or when it’s going to happen, but I am pretty sure that we’re all really going to enjoy it and that this uncertainty and speculation is part of the final chapter that Steve Jobs has in store for us. This is the way Steve Jobs tells stories — particularly his final story!
In this time of reflection, this is something to look forward to: Steve Jobs’s final “one more thing”!
