Promoting Company Events through Social Media

March 21, 2011

A core social media benefit is its ability to promote business-related items, such as events, at no charge.

The key to capitalizing on this opportunity is  having the right knowledge. Promoting an event takes more than cutting and pasting the details, and hoping people attend, virtually or in-person. You need to get it in front of people’s eyes. And not only that, but you need to make sure you’re getting it in front of the right audience. Luckily, with social media, it’s easy to hone in on the base of clients you want to aim for.

Firstly, ensure that you’re using the appropriate site for your online marketing strategy. LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook all have drastically different communities. As such, know what your goal is, and determine which site will be the gateway to it.

To get the most out of your promotions on social media, remember to stay updated on the latest trends. What may have worked a month ago, may not be as effective today in this rapidly evolving world. For more information on social media promotions, read the full article by Joan Stewart.
