Legally protect your information.

Not only should you identify your “mission critical” information and keep it on a need-to-know basis, take extra legal precautions as well:

“Confidentiality or nondisclosure agreements should be signed by all employees and independent contractors, and also by current and potential business partners. Always ask these parties to sign the agreement before you share any sensitive information.”

You can also then track and monitor access to, and restrict copying of, confidential information.

VentureBeat’s article is a must-read if you’ve been following the WikiLeaks story and want to protect your company’s data.
