Driving Better Traffic with Social Media Marketing

December 6, 2011

In a recent post for the OpenView Blog site, Marketing Associate Amanda Maksymiw shares some tips for using social media to not only raise awareness and engage with targets, but to drive serious traffic to your website as well

Lemma on two policemen

“Social media is a great way to connect and engage with your target audience, humanize your organization, and have some fun in general … but there is more value to social media for a B2B company than simply that,” she writes.

Some of the strategies she recommends for using social media as a traffic driver are as simple as making it more easy for your audience to share your content. “Ensure that your site is set up in a way that promotes social sharing,” she explains. “[Your pages should] include the major ‘buttons’ — Inshare for LinkedIn, Tweet for Twitter, Like for Facebook — so that it is really easy for everyone to share your content.”

Amanda also stresses the importance of getting your entire team involved in the process. This is where automation tools can come in handy, but ultimately the senior leaders need to be committed to the process to ensure that everyone else stays on board.

Of course, that’s not all you can do. For more tips from Amanda on boosting your traffic via social media marketing, check out the full post on the OpenView Blog site.
