In recent weeks, I have been working with OpenView Venture Partners Managing Director, Brian Zimmerman, to construct the ultimate sales training guide assessment and template. We feel that this will be a major resource for our portfolio of companies who are building a sales team and expecting a quick ramp up period. While obviously every company’s sales training program will have different content, the overall structure can most certainly be replicated.
So why are we focused on this? At the expansion stage, companies are growing rapidly, and often times they do not have the time or resources to put together a sales training guide that covers all of the essentials for getting a new hire up and running. OpenView Labs, the management consulting arm of the venture capital firm, is seeing this need in the portfolio, and is making the creation of the sales training program/manual a top priority in Q2.
