Content Marketing Experiment: Update on our Newsletter

Content Marketing Update on our Newsletter Experiment

A little time has passed since I wrote about “Viewing Value”, OpenView’s weekly email full of tips and tricks geared towards senior managers of expansion stage companies. Here is what worked well and not so well in the past 2 months.

Tested a New Design
We are always looking for ways to increase our “customer engagement” with OpenView content. With the launch of our new Labs site, we wanted to enhance the presentation of our newsletter to give it a more consistent feel between the site and the email. When we sent the email we asked our subscribers for their honest feedback.

Result: If you are on our list, you know we scrapped the design template. Why did we do this? After asking our subscribers what they thought, we found out they preferred the original simple design. Lesson learned: Always pay attention to your “customers.”

Will you join me in the experiment?
