Why Your Content Development Efforts Must Include eBooks

eBooks can be a valuable tool in your content marketing arsenal. They aid in generating new leads, developing thought leadership, and building buzz about your company or brand. eBooks typically lend themselves to building buzz for a company because people share them, tweet about them, write blogs about them, and forward them to colleagues. More importantly, eBooks are not terribly difficult to create.

Earlier this week I blogged about what I learned since leading the content development initiative for OpenView Labs’ first eBook. In this blog post, I wanted to share a great resource from an industry expert.

The eBook eBook: Written by Jonathan Kranz, this is an all encompassing guide that specifies why eBooks are important. It includes tips on what you should and shouldn’t write about and how to organize, layout and market your eBook, among other tips. The author even includes a checklist to help you ensure you nailed the process! I personally like the 10 tips for successful eBooks: (Check out the eBook for the full list of 10 as I only included my favorites here):

  1. Get the PR team on board from the start
  2. Break your brand standards
  3. Invite guest contributors
  4. Consider other types of media
