Capital and Talent: The Key Ingredients for Early Expansion and Growth Stage Companies

October 5, 2011

At OpenView Partners, we understand that access to capital is one of the key ingredients entrepreneurs need to start and build great companies. But it’s not the only one.

Another key ingredient is talent. People are the only strategic asset a company has (I wrote a blog on this you can read here). They build the product, market and sell it to the target segment, and service the customer in a way that makes them successful, encouraging them to buy more from you and tell their peers how you helped solve their problem.

On that note, the Wall Street Journal’s Bob Greifeld wrote a great commentary that I wanted to pass on titled “Sarbox and Imigration Reform for Jobs”. It talks about how reforming Sarbanes-Oxely for smaller companies and addressing the immigration rules would help ease both of these issues and create more jobs in America. I could not agree more and hope you enjoy the read. I would also be interested in your thoughts on this.

All the best!
